Magnetic Separators – DWS
DWS wet drum magnetic separator series is widely used in the mining and mineral industries for heavy media recovery and iron ore concentration. This separator features a 120-degree magnetic arc housed within a wear-resistant non-magnetic stainless-steel shell, capped with aluminium alloy end caps. The drum shell and end caps rotate around the fixed magnetic arc at specific rates.
The slurry feed enters the separator through a feeding box, which distributes the slurry evenly across the drum width. As the slurry flows under the magnetic drum, fine magnetic particles are attracted to the rotating drum surface and are carried to the final discharge point.
DWS wet drum magnets can be equipped with either Ceramic Magnets LIMS or Neodymium Magnets MIMS, providing varying magnetic forces with different intensities and gradients.
The wet drum magnetic separator includes:
- Magnetic Drum
- Tank
- Feeding Chutes
- Discharging Chutes
- Drive
- Supporting Frame
The housing is designed for easy dismantling, facilitating both installation and maintenance.
Key factors affecting separation efficiency include feeding rate, drum speed, tank configuration, magnet element types, and pole arrangements.
MAG Magnetics wet drum separators are available in various tank configurations concurrent, counter-current, and counter-rotation in a wide range of drum sizes, with dia. from 300 to 1500 mm and lengths from 300 to 4000 mm.
