Magnetic Separators – BDS
BDS belt drum magnet series is widely used for concentrating coarse ferromagnetic fractions up to 200 mm in size. This process helps in obtaining the primary concentration mass and removing large impure stones. It is especially effective as the first stage in iron ore concentration.
The main components of the BDS belt drum magnets include:
- Drum Magnet
- Rubber Belt
- Pulley
- Motor Drive
- Idle Drums
- Frame and Power Transmission Unit
- Adjustable Splitter
The separators feature a 210-degree magnetic arc housed within a non-magnetic stainless-steel shell and capped with aluminium alloy end caps. The drum shell and end caps rotate around the fixed magnetic arc at a specified rate.
When material is fed into the belt drum magnet, non-magnetic materials are expelled in a natural trajectory in front of the magnet, while the ferromagnetic materials is attracted by the magnet and carried to the end of the magnetic arc and discharged behind the belt drum splitter.
Belt Drum Magnets are available with either Ceramic Magnets LIMS or Neodymium Magnets MIMS, each providing varying magnetic forces with different intensities and gradients.
Key factors affecting separation efficiency include drum speed, splitter position, feeding rate, and the types and configurations of the magnetic elements. MAG Magnetics belt drum separators are available in a wide range of drum sizes, with diameters from 600 to 1500 mm and lengths from 600 to 3000 mm.
