MAGNETIC SEPARATORS – DDS

Magnetic Separators – DDS

DDS dry drum magnet separator series is designed for the continuous separation of fine ferrous particles from bulk materials. The drum magnet separators feature a 210-degree magnetic arc, housed within a wear-resistant stainless steel cylindrical shell and capped with aluminium alloy end caps. The drum shell and end caps rotate around the fixed magnetic arc at a specific rate.

DDS dry drum magnets can be equipped with either ceramic magnets LIMS or neodymium magnets MIMS, providing varying magnetic forces with different intensities and gradients. The drum magnets are available in various magnetic configurations: axial, radial, or hybrid.

The magnetic drum includes a dust-proof housing with discharge openings for both magnetic and non-magnetic products which are separated by an adjustable splitter located under the drum and inside the housing. Additionally, the housing features a chute and a manually adjustable feed gate to control the feeding volume. The entire unit can be connected to the plant exhaust system or to an outlet on the housing for dust ventilation. Parts of the housing exposed to significant wear are protected by replaceable wear-resistant sheets, and the housing can be easily dismantled for maintenance. The drum shell is covered with a replaceable, thin, wear-resistant, non-magnetic stainless-steel liner.

Key factors influencing separation efficiency include drum speed, splitter position, feeding rate, and the types and configurations of the magnetic elements. MAG Magnetics dry drum separators are available in a wide range of drum sizes, with diameters from 300 to 1500 mm and lengths from 300 to 3000 mm.

The DDS drum magnets are primarily used for purifying raw materials in industries such as glass, tile, ceramics, food processing, recycling, casting, and steel foundries. They are also effective for iron ore concentration and ferro-alloy treatment.
