High Intensity Filter Magnet – HIF
various industries, including:
- Ceramic Industry: Purification of glaze and body slurries
- Mineral Processing: Purification of mineral materials such as silica sand, feldspar, and kaolin in wet processing lines
- Water Purification: Treatment of recirculated water in thermal power plants
HIF utilize electrical coils or NdFeB permanent magnets to create a steady magnetic field, which is directed towards intervals of separation meshes (matrix). This specific mesh design enhances the magnetic intensity by 3 to 4 times compared to the background field, achieving magnetic field strengths up to 20,000 Gs at specific edge points of the matrix.
The magnetic separators are available in various background magnetic field strengths, including 1000, 3000, 6000, and 12000 Gs, and come in different capacities. For background magnetic fields up to 6000 Gs and capacities up to 3000 liters/hr, we offer permanent magnetic separators. For higher capacities or stronger magnetic fields, electromagnetic filters are recommended.
HIF separators function as batch or cyclic filters and are suitable for liquid lines with less than 3% iron contamination. Once the matrix becomes saturated, it must be cleaned either automatically or manually using reversed flush water.
The capacity of the HIF separators depends on several factors, including solid particle size, slurry viscosity, solid weight percentage in the slurry, and contamination particle type and size. Therefore, specific configurations should be discussed based on application, such as the purification of silica, kaolin, and feldspar.
